Ingredients:
Pterocarpus marsupium (Indian Kino Tree) Vijaysar:
It is one among the best sugars, cholesterol
and lipid lowering herbs. As per Ayurveda
Pterocarpus maintains the metabolism of fatty
tissues (Meda dhatu), which when disturbed
results in problems like high blood sugar, high
cholesterol and increased lipids. It has got
bitter and astringent taste which balances Kapha and purifies
Meda dhatu which
are responsible for imbalanced blood sugar
level. Beta cell protective and regenerative
properties as well as blood glucose lowering
activity of Pterocarpus has been proved in
various clinical trials. It was observed that
it can reverse the damage to the beta cells
and infact, it can repopulate the islets. Also
it restored the normal insulin secretion.
According to various researches it not only
repairs or regenerates beta cells, but may
also act in a protective manner i.e.
preventing beta cells from destruction by
nullifying the effects of a toxic exposure
(Ama). This ability to offer protection to
beta cells in this fashion may be of
particular benefit to newly diagnosed Type 1
diabetics that are still experiencing an
autoimmune activity.
Epicatechin present in Pterocarpus has
insulin like activity; it lowers blood sugar
through unrelated pathway as that of insulin.
It has different cellular binding site so it
can maintain blood sugar without insulin. This
action is useful in Type 2 diabetes.

Gymnema sylvestre (Ram's Rorn) Gurmar:
In Ayurvedic texts, Gymnema is referred to as
Gurmar, which means “sugar killer” in
Sanskrit. It is described as
destroyer of glycosuria (madhumeha) and other
urinary disorders. Its leaf when chewed deadens
the sense of taste of sweet, this itself
signifies its importance in balancing blood
sugar. Gynema leaf extract suppresses glucose
absorption and reduce the sensation of
sweetness in foods, reduce sugar cravings –
effects which may deliver important health
benefits for individuals who want to balance
blood sugar levels or body weight. Its leaf
contains Gymnemic acids, which are known to
suppress transport of glucose from the
intestine into the blood stream. It also
regulates appetite and controls food cravings.

in digestion thus helps in removing Ama (undigested material) which is
the cause for
diabetes (Prameha). It improves the
functioning of liver and pancreas thus helps
in maintaining sugar metabolism.
Turmeric being good antioxidant reduces the
over production of free radicals, thus
prevents from oxidative stress. Also it
reduces the cholesterol and lipid levels in
the blood.
