Ayurvedic herbs possess the power to maintain healthy functioning of joints. Poor digestion allows toxins (Ama) to accumulate in micro circulatory channels; and joints, muscles, nerves, tendons and ligaments. Boswellia serrata (Indian Olibenum) Shallaki:

It is an excellent herb for joint health due to anti-inflammatory, restorative and regenerative properties. Boswellic acid, one of the main constituent of Boswellia is an effective anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic agent. 

Boswellic acid reduces inflammation in several ways like deterring inflammatory white cells from infiltrating damaged tissue, improving blood flow to the joints and blocking chemical reactions that set the stage for inflammation. Leukotrienes cause inflammation by promoting free radical damage, calcium dislocation, autoimmune response, cell adhesion and migration of inflammation producing cells to the inflamed body area. Curcuma longa (Turmeric) Haldi:

Curcumin, the active principle of Curcuma, has shown significant anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to reduce histamine levels and possibly increases natural cortisone production by the adrenal glands. Curcuma has powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory action. Our bodies are designed to fight this inflammation via our immune system. But in the process may become overburdened and, therefore, weakened from battling the const free radical induced inflammation. Trikatu (Long Pepper, Black Pepper and Ginger):

The combination of three pungents stimulates the digestion and improves assimilation of nutrients. They digest 'Ama' and increase bioavailability of other herbs and nutrients by improving their absorption. 

Ginger is particularly useful in stiffness of joints. Stiffness of joints is caused by accumulation of toxins or Ama. These toxins cause the degenerative changes in joints and surrounding structures. Sonth is widely used herb in Ayurveda preparations for rheumatic conditions especially swelling, stiffness and pain. That is why it is useful to improve the mobility of joints. Alpinia galanga (Greater Galangal) Kulanjan:

It has quality similar to ginger. It improves digestion, absorption and assimilation. It helps in removing Ama (toxins) - the causative factor for Rheumatoid.
